Gains on a 2.5 N/A

G'day Guys. I'll be removing the Interceptor from my Legacy in the near future and i was asked some questions by a potential buyer for the unit. he has an '03 model 2.5 N/A Subaru Forester. in Stock form they have, 115KW, 225Nm at the flywheel Aus spec model that runs on 91RON. what kind of gains co...

Re: tunning ignition vs turbo size

Unsure what the other guys think, but from most of the literature and tunes i've studied, timing is really only dependent on boost and rpm as opposed to the flow-rates of the turbo. my thoughts in very basic terms. it's all about the pressure in the cylinder. At any instant, any turbo (td04 or GT35R...

Re: What is the best Air Temp?

I'd say as many different temp/ humidity conditions as you can
just to make sure the corrections used (air temp, baro, etc) are working as intended

obviously it's not possible for every car, but if it's your own, then you should be able to log data on enough different occasions to get it sot on.

Davies Craig water pump controller
http://www.daviescraig.com.au/Controlle ... tails.aspx

i know it's extra cost/ hardware, but they do a brilliant job.
A mate of mine has one running both the pump and thermo's for his 3.5L V8, VW Kombi.

Re: fuel base map tuning issues

is all the calibration data for your injector size, dead times, MAP sensor calibration, etc all correct (i know it's probably obvious, but triple checking isn;t a bad thing)

Re: MAP or TPS load scale

Thanks again Adrian, As above was your previous advice to me and as such i have chosen to use MAP load sites for my own purposes (being sequential twin-turbo also throws in a another variable given there are two very different airflows for each pressure...  ) I just found it interesti...

MAP or TPS load scale

I've been looking over some tuned interceptor maps lately for Turbo Subaru engines. both tuners are well respected within the Subaru community but i struck one glaring difference. Both cars were MY99 GT Foresters with similar modifications. One tuner used MAP for the Load sites within the intercepto...

Re: Interceptor Setup Options

you can't delete the MAF with an interceptor. the MAF signal is still required by the stock ECU for load signals. the Interceptor just modifies these signals. you can select MAP, MAF or TPS as your "Load Scale" for the maps within the interceptor, but it still can only change the MAF signa...

Re: Sti 99' Install

Ok good news, the cut is definately VSS related, I wired the VSS per stock and I have no cuts now. Now of course it would be great to know how to setup the VSS in the software to defeat the limiter. send a PM to Adrian "vosadrian" i would also like to know this i suspect it is as simple a...

Re: Sti 99' Install

One of the things I'm also unsure of is: If you reduce injection % which also affects timming (advancing it)... well you have to compensate that increased timming by retarding it in the very same condition cells, but in what proportions? regards, joe basically, it would all come down to MBT measure...

Re: Sti 99' Install

All turbo subies have a restrictor pill (~0.9mm) in the line from the compressor outlet. make sure this is always in place if using the stock boost control system. otherwise just chuck out the stock solenoid and use a 3-port. the Early (<MY01) stock ECU's also love to go into "limp mode" a...
