maximum number of gears

Software only has options for 6 gears.

Please add option for 7 so the bmw dct gearbox gets "supported" :)
it has 8 gears with the reverse.

You should start with politics. ;)

I don’t know if that’s a true compliment or nut but it’s funny lol.

Cheers!

Re: injectors upgrade

It will be spot on if you have the actual flow. Which you don’t if you only go with the manufacturer specification flow tested on heptane. If you have flow values on the specific fuel being used then it’s ok. It’s not that officially known that the mass of the fuels differ. If you run with e85 and y...

Nice!

Can you check if my request for canbus transmission of cam angle target and cam error is coming?
Only 2 protocols. As today only the actual angles are sending over canbus. Not useful when logging with external logger over canbus.

If not ask to include it for me.

Please please please

Re: Cutting ignition or injection?

I have had a valve shim come loose on an n/a m3 engine with 3.5” exhaust system all way back when it’s banging on the rev limiter. As said those engines are famous for this issue. I can’t imagine bmw ecu cut the ignition because m3 engines don’t bang on the limiter standard. I would expect it to req...

Cutting ignition or injection?

Is there any real downsides cutting injection instead of ignition for revlimiting functions? Ignition cuts often make exhaust bangs and create high pressure spikes in the exhaust manifold. This is a real problem with engines with shims on the valves because the valves are being pushed down from the ...

Re: Closed loop shifting?

Yeah i know you told me before. I was just curious what the closed loop Shifting does now, if it’s not revmatching? Or did you mean that you could make blips as we talked about before?

Thanks :)

Re: flex sensor plumbing

i see, so low flow and maybe air in the sensor is an bad idea.

I will try. See how it works in my setup. Thanks for the info.

Re: Closed loop shifting?

What exactly does the closed loop shifting do if it’s not revmatching/blips on downshifts to prevent wheel lockup?

The flatshift for upshifting is already supported.

Please clarify for me, I’m really new to sequential gearboxes with Haltech.

Closed loop shifting?

Is this being worked on? When running sequential dogbox or dct gearbox you want the ecu to revmatch downshifts or at least make a programmed throttle blip to help with not loosing traction in the downshifts. The ecu knows when you down shift, because the left downshift paddle is always the same, sam...

Re: Rpm Based shift points on elite

Just as he said this should be possible with an 3D generic table with rpm and tps load axis.

On low tps the shiftlpoint would be lower and on high tps it should be later.

I have been thinking about this because I will soon run an dct gearbox and would be a cool thing to try just for fun.

Re: flex sensor plumbing

Why not put it on the return line after the regulator? I can’t see how the actual value would drastically change? I mean if you change fuel the fuel is allways Flowing trough the system even with only ignition on, mixing it. In my case where I don’t run a flex fuel system only run e85 and use the fl...

Re: Quick Tip: Something to be aware of when NOT using Auto VE air temp compensation.

Do the air really heat up that much in the intake? If I have 20 degrees air temp going in my plenum. What is then realistic the temp is when it enters the cylinder? The m3 has really good intakeports. Anyhow the engine is tuned and I never changed that because i had no idea about it. Maybe best to l...
