Re: Low vacuum V8 race engine, possible with the Elite?

I wouldnt worry about it too much.

Since its a race engine, just get it to run as smooth as you will tolerate with as little fuel as you can get away with at part throttle and not worry about what the wideband says too much.

Re: Low vacuum V8 race engine, possible with the Elite?

I have done only one conversion from carburettor to fuel injection. It was on a drag racing nitrous injected carburetted motorcycle. (hayabusa engine, which is normally fuel injected from the factory) We used the same carb type that had been modifed to accept fuel injectors, with all the carb relate...

Re: Need help deciding.

you can unplug the stock o2 sensors, they are useless unless you have a catalytic converter.

and you can put the wideband sensors in the same position as the stock sensor.

also the elite ecu isnt a piggyback.

Re: Low vacuum V8 race engine, possible with the Elite?

Haltech does map compensated TPS load. So VE changes with relation to TPS but manifold pressure is still used the fuel calculation. ( if you wanted TPS based fuelling only you would have to have map sensor reading atmospheric pressure) And on top of that there is another map compensation table that ...

Re: Low vacuum V8 race engine, possible with the Elite?

It should be fine with speed density.

Although I have never had to use them (lowest idle vac ive seen is -35kpag)
If you are having trouble at idle with a unstable vacuum there is a zero throttle table you can enable for idle fuel and/or ignition

Re: Running Sequential ignition.

post both files, I can look through them to see why the haltech isnt getting the engine to run.

by odd fire is that the cylinder firing angle changes from cylinder to cylinder (for a 6 cylinder any engine that doesnt fire every 120 degrees is odd fire)

Re: Running Sequential ignition.

and yes the firing edge for these coils needs to be set to falling edge

Re: Running Sequential ignition.

if the coils and injectors are wired by firing order and not by cylinder number, you can use 123456 as firing order, but if using individual cylinder trims will be off cyl 3 will not be number 3 but 3rd to fire, also is this an odd fire engine, i dont think the PS2000 can do odd fire

Re: Running Sequential ignition.

sounds like a firing order issue, or possibly trigger set up. do you have the coils (and injectors) wired cyl 1 to output 1, cyl 2 to output 2 etc... with the correct firing order in the haltech software have you tried to test to see if timing is correct on cyl 1 on cranking (you can disable injecto...

Re: IAC and Sprint 500

I think the sprint 500 can use a 2 wire BAC in closed loop if you use a haltech expander and wire it to the expander.

Ask haltech as im not 100% sure

Re: Running Sequential ignition.

haltech can run these coils without any ignition module.

these coils use Falling edge
I normally set dwell at 4.2ms but I have tested them up to 5.5ms with out problems

Re: O2 issues, need help please.

also check things like TPS and map sensor are operating normally

everything should be smooth and stable and no unusual fluctuations, (check injection time in the log)

Re: O2 issues, need help please.

first check fuel pressure is normal,
check wiring for injectors (basic stuff, injector clips on properly etc.)

then check injectors and FPR diaphragm

If the AFR swings are extremely wild, it could also be a an ignition issue

Re: New to Haltech(ish) - starting issue? possibly map?

It could be a camshaft timing issue, while it isn't the most difficult thing to fix, you should first make sure its not something else Start by checking, that the coils are wired on the correct firing order (maybe the connectors are swapped) do all the coils give a good spark? are all the injector c...

Re: Datalog

download ecu manager 1.12.5 and install that version of datalog viewer, I had the same problem, this fixed it,

I believe the datalog viewer with the latest version of the elite ESP software also works well.
