Re: Ignition coils

if you choose coil on plugs, it needs to be with built in amplifier

if you choose coilpack you need an exteral amplifier to drive it

Re: ignition advance

you are tragic...and you will destroy the engine...when you lock the timing in 5 or 10 or in 20 then timing light must show the same advance not less... so when you set to 10 you must see 10 on timing light NOT less or more TIMING LIGHT DEGREE is the engine degree...thats why we synchronise it and M...

Re: B16a turbo sensors needed

i am not sure...i suggest you to run the car just for daily driving and normal use until you buy the proper components

also i am not sure how accurate and strong will be the signal from distributor as revs goes up, you need to check several times if advance timing changes as you go up to revs...

Re: B16a turbo sensors needed

delete distribuitor and go for coil on plugs setup or a single coil with leads... also if you delete distribuitor then you need AEM EPM for crank and cam signal...so coil on plug and injectors will run sequantial... use map sensor as main load with tps for throttle enrichment try the oem iac to see ...

Re: Find trigger but not home

well done...find the correct trigger angle with oscilloscope so you will be sure 100% about it and advance timing and you will fix all the other issues easily...its very important to set the correct trigger angle

Re: Find trigger but not home

i just take a look at your map that you upload....you have set up : sensor type - reluctor but a reluctor sensor its imposible to work with 5mm gap ONLY hall sensor can work with so much gap reluctor needs 0.7-1mm gap... so be 100% sure if you have reluctor or hall sensor from FFE...and make the nec...

Re: 5sfe MR2 starting out

yes sport 1000 its perfect...remove distributor use single coil with leads or coil on plugs...you need 3 bar map sensor so the ecu will understand the pressure from turbo, air and water temp...plus the crank sensor....make a research about the trigger wheel if sport 1000 can control the trigger patt...
