Should I buy E6X / E8 or E11v2?

Postby axvts » Tue Apr 10, 2007 5:20 pm

I'm currently building a high-reving 1600cc PSA engine with ITBs (independent throttle bodies) and 4 or 8 injectors (don't know yet). I want to control both my fuel system and ignition with a Haltech system.

Any suggestions which system I should take?
What does sequential injection mean?

Pardon my ignorance, but what does PSA stand for? At any rate, if this is a 4 cylinder motor i would go with the E8 to keep things simple. It has plenty of features that you can use to control not just the engine but peripherals as well. And its value is pretty competitive compared to a lot of the systems available today.

And unless you want to control all manner of options, the E11v2 would be overkill.

I think PSA is the general designation for Peugeot/Citroen engines.

IMO all the haltechs are nice and its really upto how many peripherals you want to be able to control and how much you have to spend. For a 4cyl the E6X would probably do it just fine but you might need the E8 if you have a lot of extras to control. Its a bit pointless buying a higher end model if you don't need (and won't be using) the features.

Ah i see. Then E8 should be the ideal choice for best results. Those ITB's are sure lovely on a well done NA motor.
