No RPM reading on F10X

Postby bucketnut » Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:35 am

My new F10X reads zero RPM on the engine data displays. The output of my MSD 6BTM box goes to the tach, which reads correctly, and to pin 36 of the F10X. Now the other sensors (TPS, ATS, WTS, MAP) aren't connected yet; would that make a difference? Any software settings that might cause this problem?

(The engine isn't ready to run yet, so I'm using an MSD test box to drive the 6BTM).

Any ideas?

If you are triggering off the while msd tach output wire I would think you need to wire to the Haltech yellow "trigger" wire and set in the software for hall effect triggering, not coil -ve.

fixed...almost! 3D fuel map RPM oddity

Postby bucketnut » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:25 am

Apparently a low battery was the problem. After I recharged it, the RPM problem went away...

But I notice that while the gauge display now reads correctly, the 3D fuel map doesn't always track the RPM. That is, it will read a correct RPM, but won't return to zero when the RPM does. If I close it and open it, it will then show zero. Interestingly, the 2D maps don't seem to have this problem. Any software guys out there?
