Cant get car started no spark no fuel

Postby puredreamz83 » Wed Apr 25, 2007 12:50 am

Someone hooked me up with a base map for my VW 1.8t motor, everything is in the map i loaded it on the computer, but im not getting no spark or fuel.

Pretty much running an E6X unit on a 1.8t motor with a dis digital 4 msd ignition box, with 4x msd blaster ss coils. Trying to run direct fire 4 coils on 4 cyl.

only thing i can think of is a bad ground to the msd box, i called msd they say hook it up straight to the battery i ve got my battery in the rear and put car cables to them nothing.

Not getting no RPM reading while cranking.

* I open to any tips or suggestions !

if you aren't getting an RPM reading there is a problem with the way you wired up your trigger. without an RPM reading, there will be no fuel or spark.

oh its wired right checked it 4 times check the pin layout and its right.

only thing i can think of is bad crank sensor

check your trigger setup to make sure that it is correct also.

its been checked 4 times doesnt get more correct then that only thing i can think of is the crank wires arent shielded and alot of people mention the sensitivity of ignition noise from the e6x units.

but would this cause the vehicle not to get an rpm reading

i believe that interference in the wiring would cause erratic RPM readings.

run that by me in simple terms

erractic RPM signal meaning that when you cranked over the motor your RPM signal would spike all over the place and obviously not be correct.

For example if you logged your RPM and it looked like this:
160 RPM
2700 RPM
50 RPM

obviously if you motor is just cranking it would never hit 2700 RPM so it is an incorrect reading caused by interference. Since you are getting NO signal i would conclude that either your trigger is bad, it is not wired correctly, or the settings are off.

Where did you get your schematic for your trigger?
