Ive heard something like this happening and it seems to be the CAN protocols that flood windows with data, you have to pop open the serial connector on the Haltech's harness and disconnect the 2 CAN wires, open the wiring diagram and you'll be able to see which 2 wires.

Or is there a way to deactivate the CAN option from within Halwin, or another solution??. Thats one for the Haltech gods to answer.

I have a Haltech E8 EMS, I was running the 1.62 firmware build 29. I tried to upgrade to the build 32 firmware and 1.71 software. For some reason my entire computer starts to glitch out. If the Haltech E8 is offline the software works fine, but once it goes online the software and the entire PC slows down to nothing. Its extremely slow. I'm not sure whats wrong. I load up the firmware, then i reset the ECU on/off the igntion, then I upload the default_E8 map, then I get upload my old build 29 firmware file. It happens all the time. Not sure what is going on, any suggestions?

I contacted Haltech. They said to disconnect the CAN LOW and CAN HIGH from the serial cable. Since the new firmware already implements those. So if those are connected it floods the computer with worthless data.
