i am converting my car to methonal the car on gas (c16) the air fuel was 12.0 now that it is going to be meth. i dont know where it should be.

stoichiometry for methanol is approximately 6.5:1

12.0 under c16 = .81lambda
5.2 under meth = .81 lambda.

i would use that as a target but watch Exhaust Gas Temps dont get to high say around 850degc is high, if so go lower in AFR/lambda. have seen a meth engine run .70lambda. <i>Edited by: drjekl at: 9/10/07 6:27 pm

no the car is not using an intercooler and it is a 4 cylinder engine
