E11V2 - injectors don't fire

Postby Adam Spacey » Sat Oct 04, 2014 6:50 pm

Hi, I am near completion of my E11V2 conversion but I am stumped with no injector earth switching from the ECU.

Configuration

• V6 fully sequential/direct fire
• I have both cam and crank count and spark
• Halwin 1.89 and 35 firmware
• Injectors enabled and fuel pressure injector resistance 16 ohms set at 2 amps, I have also tried 8amps saturated
• Fuel set up as 6 cylinder default map

What I know

• Injectors fire with direct current
• 12v battery one side of injector plug on ignition
• 5.8v from ECU trigger on ignition this voltage slowly increases and gets up to 12v after 30 minutes and then dissipates of ignition
• When I connect the ECU to the injector leads I have the battery voltage on both sides of the injector plug when connected to the injector, but 8v disconnected from the injector
• During cranking this voltage is 10.7-10.8 or so a cheep multi meter is showing
• No earth switching showing with noid light at injector plug with injector connected

I purchased the ECU used so I cannot confirm its condition.

Could this be the systems of a failed ECU component or something I've over looked in the set up? Any other test I could make.

Any ideas, please?

Since you don't have pulse on the noid light it means that either the wiring, or the ecu is at fault...

I suggest to check or even replace the injector wiring...

The wiring would appear to be fine as I can fire each injector through the wiring to them.

It wont fire injectors unless you have perfect crank/cam sync, or you are at 100%TPS while cranking, or you have the injectors disabled.

This mite be a stupid question but how do you sync the crank/cam sensor to the ecu

Does it get the correct signals, if not it wont fire. When it has the correct signals, does the timing on your computer match what you have ont eh crank.

Thanks Matthew,

I'm picking up from where I left off a few years ago, in your previous message you said i need perfect cam and crank sync. This is what i have so far.

Recap
e11v2
Direct fire/sequential
Factory hall at cam
After market hall at crank
Alfa 60-2 crank

Set up is 60-2+home, the data is reading crank and cam, 57/117 at last home.

At TDC there are 14/15 teeth between the gap and sensor =90Deg, confirmed with timing light.
This is set as trigger tooth 3 and 72 Deg trigger angle.

The cams single pick up is centred over its sensor at 86Deg BTDC so at the crank the sensor has just past the gap and sits on the first two teeth.

Is there any more I need to do?
Have any Haltech Maps been developed for alfa 24v?

Many thanks
