Base map for E11V2 required - 3SGTE

Postby mr2aust » Sat Jan 06, 2018 2:26 pm

I need a base map to get my 5SGTE (stroked version of a 3SGTE) going with a E11V2.
I am able to get the trigger and home signals to register the correct ratio, though it won't start.
I have had a couple of kicks though, so I do have some ignition.
I'm struggling because I am starting from scratch.

I'm running with e85 fuel and 1000cc injectors.

I've searched this forum and also Google and haven't been able to locate a base map for a 3SGTE running a E11V2.

Please help!

Here's a pic of the car that it is going into -

BTW I noticed that there are minimal links to information and base maps of your older products on your web site. There are a lot of old Haltech ECUs out there so having this information easily available is essential to a lot of people.
I bought a new E6S many years ago for my MK2 Ford Escort and loved it. The car started the first time that I tried. I was stoked.
I know that the E11V2 is around 10 years old now, though I am putting it into a 25 year old car, so I don't really need a new model, as much of the functionality would be unused.
I love your products! Keep doing great things!

Hello everyone, I got the engine started.
I used a base map for a E8 as a starting point, though I struggled with it for a while because Halwin kept freezing whenever I tried to load it. I'm using Halwin 1.89. I got there in the end though, made some essential tweaks to it and then my engine started OK.

I have uploaded the new base map for others that may need it.
    * ECU - E11V2
    * Engine - 3SGTE or 5SGTE
    * Stock triggers (distributor) and ignitor
    * It is likely that the fuel map will need to be changed slightly for a good idle on your engine, as I am not running pump fuel or standard injectors.
Here are useful some tips to getting it started for the first time -
    * Ensure that the cable to the distributor is shielded, and only earthed at the ECU end.
    * I used the "G1" (refer to the your OEM wiring diagram) for the home signal. Note that the colours of the wires going to the distributor are different between the ST185 Celica, pre-93 SW20 MR2, and post-93 SW20 MR2. You'll need to figure out which wire is which yourself.
    * Remove the spark plugs and disable the injectors while setting the base timing and checking your triggering.
    * Use the trigger diagnostics page to see what is happening with your triggering. The trigger counter number should be around 24 times the home counter number. Don't panic if it isn't exact - mine wasn't perfect, though the engine runs smoothly anyway.
    * Lock the timing to 10 degrees BTDC and set the distributor position to match using a timing light.
    * Unlock the timing, install the spark plugs and re-enable the injectors before attempting the first start.
    * Smile when your engine starts :-)
