Anti Lag Launch - Ignition retard and fuel enrich

Anti Lag Launch - Ignition retard and fuel enrich

Postby SR20_DET on Sat Mar 21, 2009 8:12 pm

Hi,

I am running my car at WSID and so far cannot find a suitable setup for my Anti Lag Launch Control.

Currently my setup is:

Cut Type: Fuel
Start RPM: 4500rpm
End RPM: 4600rpm
Minimum Temp: 60
Minimum TPS: 35.0
Maximum Road Speed: 20kph
Fuel Enrich: 20.0
Absolute Ignition Retard: 20.0

Its an SR20DET. With the above setting it just bogs down and boost builds and holds at 5psi and the car doesnt go anywhere. It is not consistant in the way it holds boost either, it runs in vacuum and goes back on boost.

I have fiddled with the RPM and Fuel/Ignition cut but not been able to get a setup that works - Can anyone tell me if the Fuel Enrich and Ignition Retart seem okay? Can anyone suggest other settings?

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Jon

I had the same problem with EJ20's. I tried the following setup and it works perfect. Boost builds up to 1.2 bar with stock turbo.

Fuel Enrich: 0
Absolute Ignition Retard: 0
Start RPM: 5000rpm
End RPM: 5500rpm

I did it for ej20s, with no problem, except that I had to use a clutch switch otherwise ignition would keep retarded (ie antilaged launch controll would still be present).
Also take notice that cuting fuel doesnt build much boost, it builds (as I have done it) but not that much. You gotta cut spark to build it.
for one of em I had a
30% enrich
start rpm 4500
end rpm 4700
ign ret 15º

Although it didnt do that much loud bang noises of a more retarded setup
it built a safe 15PSI if I'm not mistaken, enough for its application (rally).

dont remember the other values right now, although I had to play with the pulses per mile (or km not sure) so that speed would show lower when the car stopped, as for some reason speed wouldnt go back to 0km/h instead it stood at around 15km/h.

I am trying to set the Launch control in a GTIR with a PS1000, what wires did you have to connect to get this to work?
A regular switch to activate the system and do one connect the positive or negative wire from the switch the input on the ps1k?

pick an available avi and decide whether you want to feed a gnd or 5 or 12v signal in to it. if you're using a factory clutch switch, chances are it's already a gnd signal. just run a wire in to the avi and select 'anti lag launch' as it's label. if using a gnd, set 'on voltage' to '0' and 'off voltage' to '2', the avi's hover around 2.2-2.5v when not connected to anything. if using a positive signal, set 'on voltage' to '5' and off voltage to '2'. 5v is the highest the avi's can register, however anything over 5v will still trigger it, but it will only see 5v, so you can use a 12v signal as well.

-10 to -20 degree's of ignition timing. Around a 1000 RPM split between the start and end RPM cut.
Most importantly, only around 1-4% more fuel (depending on injector size)
