The PWM outputs switch to ground, so you will need to use the PWM to ground the coil of the relay, the other side will need 12v.
Kind Regards

Hey I have the same problem today, when i tried to use PWM#3 as Engine Control Relay.
It supposed to ONLY switch to ground when it sees RPM, but as soon as i turned on the IG ON, it already switched to ground. Emmmm...i couldn't use this to turn on the relay to the coil to avoid the "pop" when ig is turned on.
Any idea why ?

What fuel mode are you using? I have found that if you use multipoint it will work.
If you use any other fuel mode it doesn’t. Try it and tell us if it’s the same for you too

could it be the firmware version?
