Does anybody know if it would actually be possible to run a fuel injected enduro/MX bike on a E6X? The question comes from the thought/dream of building a turbo 450 or maybe 510 bike, sorta pointless but novel none the less. :D

I have had thoughts of this as well over the years - and also a turboed CR500 based twin.

Anyways...
I reckon a turbo would be better in a motard a you dont have to worry about an airbox as much and can shove the turbo in that space instead. Easiest would be one of the newer models that already has injection, so already has fuelpump setup etc. A number of them already have the ability to be reprogrammed, though to what degree I do not know. Also, I know Honda was having issues with response on the CRF250, it never ran as well as the carburetted version initially, feeling very flat. No idea how the release version goes. The 450's don't seem to have that issue with injection.

CR500 twin.... one word "scary" lol.

Yeah your right about a motard setup and i was think if i was to do it it would be to a EFI standard bike and i would start with a enduro or motard version as they already have a battery setup (12V needed for the Haltech). Im not sure of any other brands of ECU for bikes yet but i read Vortex have a piggy back ECU for some models, but don't think they offer a fully mapable one yet. It would chew up some money, but it doesn't stop me from dreaming.

Can anybody tell me if its posible to use the standard WR450 crank sensor? And other than MAP, coolant temp and TPS is there any other sensors that would have to be connected for an E6X to run a 450 bike with a single injector and LS1 coil setup?

I would think a new trigger wheel with hall sensor would be the go.

No more than on a car, except for the space issue. Cramming everything in might take a bit of head scratching to work out.

Hey guys, just caught this thread, with any haltech installation the main issue is triggering the haltech and then firing the motor the way its supposed to. Are these 2 stroke or 4? It may be possible, provided the right sensor combinations are used, and the engine can be fired how its meant to be fired.

My 2 cents.
