VE Tuning Fuel Pressure

Postby HockeyNomad » Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:47 pm

Quick VE Tuning Question

When i input my injector flow rate, do i put the flow rate for the fuel rail pressure, or the flow rate quoted @ 3bar and haltech works out actual flow from the fuel pressure i enter in the main setup pages?

Can anyone answer this question above?

Should the injector flow be what the injector flows at 3bar or at fuel rail pressure you are using?
As it looks like changing "Base fuel pressure" in setup would affect the flow value you input for the injectors.

I have 80lb siemens deka injectors on a 3litre motor that I can't get to idle and I was going to set the FPR to 30psi so I can get the pulsewidth above 2ms.

The pressure has no impact on the tuning. This will impact the flow rate which you are entering directly. The setting is only there for engine protection to know the base pressure before any MAP compensation.

Ok, so input the flow rate of the injector at the pressure you intend to use.

Exactly. At the fuel pressure you get when you key on the system and the engine is not running (i.e. at atmospheric pressure).
