Speed sensor

Postby andreagti-r » Tue Mar 06, 2018 8:33 am

Hi guys
I want try to read speed for my ps1000 from abs trigger wheel in the hub
I think in the first time to fit a gt101 hall sensor, but now I have read it can’t read well a little tooth of the abs ring
Chris suggest to use cherry red hall sensor
Confirm Can read abs trigger wheel?
If teeth are too near I can drill one tooth
One yes and one not,etc
Second you is a good idea?
Cherry need a pull upp resistor to work with 12v supply voltage?
Many thanks
Best regards
Andrea

I had check cherry web page about their gs100502 hall sensor specification
All value about trigger wheel are the same my abs ring
Only the wrong value is the tooth height..
Cherry suggest 5mm..my abs trigger wheel is around 2/2,3 mm
Second you cherry sensor can read anyway without problem?

No. It needs to meet the spec.

Most ABS use different types of sensors designed specifically for the ring they use. These sensors cannot be read by a Sport ECU. You may be better using your GT101 and pointing it at the back of a wheel stud.

I can fit gt101 near bell disc bolt(2 piece discs)

but my fear is that during the movements of the wheel hub the sensor can be hit by the reference bolts And demage it?
how many millimeters can I keep the sensor away to avoid this problem?

Gt101 with 12v power supply need resistor?

Have you pics about some installation on wheel bolts?
Thanks
