2JZGE backfiring won't start 36-2+1

Postby nismotunedgtr » Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:54 pm

Looking for some help with my current project car.

After a few sets of plugs and many many hours, I still can't get my Supra to run.

At the most I get a backfire out the intake or the exhaust.

Here's a few details:

Factory 36-2 crank sensor
7mgte cam sensor with all but one tooth cut off the trigger wheel
800cc injectors
1zz coils

I've tried a million tooth offset and trigger angle combinations, every time I get the crank pointer dead nuts on..... no start.

I have the software set for 36-2+1

I've been through and verified the harness four times.

Any and all help is EXTREMELY appreciated! Thanks!

With a factory 36-2 on the crank and a Sport series ECU there are only two possible values to make it run depending on which cycle your cam tooth appears.

Reluctor / Falling for the sensors if the wiring polarity is correct. If unsure then a cheap scope will show this.

Trigger angle is 65

Tooth offset either 9 or 45 (9 + 36)

1ZZ coils are Constant Charge with Falling edge and charge around 3ms
