Alternator control on EVO 9 PS2000

Postby crewdawg130 » Fri May 06, 2011 11:40 am

Need some help guys. Any one knows what pin on the PS harness goes to the #8 pin on the stock harness on the 32 pin plug. Were trying to send a ground signal to the ALT because its not giving us more that 12V no matter what. The alternator is good.

Thanks for your time.

Is this a complety factory setup? Is the stock dash cluster/gauges still installed?
Reason why I'm asking is because if the cluster have been removed the alternator will not charge because there must be a warning/charge light wired to it. To get around it I would wire a 'LED' to the charge light circuit.

That may work on these, but most "normal" alternators need an actual bulb (or resistor) to excite, an LED doesn't flow enough current to start them charging. Just so people reading this don't think this applies to other alternators necessarily.

The Evo9 Alternator is not giving/getting any info from the Haltech in a Patch harness or Pro plug in application.
As suggested it would appear the Alternator is not being "excted" by the charge light.
Kind Regards

Mitsi Alternators also (as a rule of thumb) require the correct ignition/battery connections in the small connector (as well as the warning light) or they won't excite and charge. Check you have all the correct power supplies at your alternator, ie check your fuses.
