Postby Claudio » Tue Jun 17, 2008 3:39 pm

Well hello all,

Just thought i'd let everyone know, im back in the game, ive gone and bought my self an 88 MK3 Supra, with a 1JZ-GTE fitted in it and have taken possession of a brand spankin' new E11v2 which i will be making a custom Pnp adapter harness for it. And hopefully will get to make some serious power when i get done with it.

Here's the car as it sits now:
  1. Stock 88 MK3 Supra, burghoundy w/ gray interior.
  2. Bone stock 1JZ-GTE (not for long)
  3. Stock front mounted MA70 intercooler
  4. 3" catback exhaust
  5. All 91 exterior hardware, bumper, lights, etc.
  6. Auto Meter Oil Pressure Gauge
  7. Auto Meter Boost Gauge

Upcoming Mods:
  1. Haltech E11v2 w/ Jumper Harness (keeping the stock ECU for now)
  2. Haltech Boost Control Solenoid
  3. Haltech DB Wideband Gauge Kit
  4. 60lb/h (630cc) Siemmens Injectors
  5. 1JZ-GTE Fuel Rail for top feed injectors
  6. 24x12x3 (core) FMIC
  7. Walbro 255l/h pump and Aeromotive A1000-6 regulator
  8. OEM Supra MK4 17" wheels (if i can find a set)

Planned Mods:
  1. Single Turbo upgrade (havent decided on turbo yet)
  2. Tubular exhaust manifold
  3. Downpipe
  4. 264 Cams (maybe 272's)
  5. Adjustable Cam Gear
  6. MK4 Brake Swap

Well, she runs!!

I finally got the engine started on the Haltech and went for a spin around the block, no formal tuning yet but idle is great, AC compensation works perfect, she revs smoothly to redline, and my crank and cam trigger signals work flawlessly by means of the internal reluctor settings.

I went to the dyno yestarday to see what she would do on the stock ECU so i'd be able to compare later on the differences, since plan to do this in stages. First will be the same setup, stock everthing with the E11v2 controlling things, then we'll swap to the Haltech and tune it to see if there's anything more there.

Later i'll do injectors, pump, regulator, and see where that goes. And finally we'll swap to the single turbo kit, big intercooler and take it to the next level.

Here's a dyno shot of power and torque on the stock ECU, done on a Dynojet 248 inertia dyno. Power numbers are 263hp and 249ft/lb of torque, peak power was at 6000, and peak torque at 5200.

The mixtures are actually quite lean, i guess its the added octane buster
that i have put in and this is making it run that way, its areally good booster
called Bardhal, very good for the price.

Well peoples, the Supra has completed Fase 1 of the build up.

As it sits now, the car has the following mods:

Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 ECU
T3/T4 Turbo
Tubular manifold
3" Downpipe
24x12x4 FMIC w/ 3" piping all around
60lb Injectors w/ Top Feed fuel rail
Aermotive -6 FPR

I have started to car today on the Psport and all the mods and so far so good. Car starts right up, and all that is left now is tuning it.

Fase 2 will consist of :

Upgraded Clutch kit
Cams and cam gears
Bigger injectors
Head work
New aluminum radiator

Here's how the car sits now:

Ill have more pics tomorrow, and hopefully a couple of dyno sheets too.

Well, put a brand new Sport 2000 in last night, after some serious down time, was doing some road tuning, but an incorrectly adjusted fuel pressure regulator (press. too low) stopped me from finishing, but thanks to noticing that, i saw a massive oil leak from the turbo return line, luckily nothing happened. I also have to build the exhaust on it, right now its just a downpipe and nothing else, so backpressures are low so it doesnt feel like much.

So, will fix this leak, try to get some manner of exhaust system going, have already raised press to 40psi, and we'll keep at it. I dont know when ill be able to dyno it yet, but i will surely post the results when im done.
