A Short Story – MP5T

Stopped at the end of a runway facing away from the sun and with the wind, the car sits solid at 700 RPM in neutral. Stripped down to 2250 Lbs and rebuilt from valve cover to drive shaft, the car is ready. Clutch in and put the car into first gear. A slight blip of the gas confirms that everything is ready. Feather the gas to 1500 and pull back on the clutch, you can hear the transmission engage and the car starts to move. Clutch fully out and gas fully to the floor, the whining noise of the transmission, turbo sucking in air and wind over the chassis breaks the calm as you are thrown back. 6500 RPM, Yellow lights illuminate on the dash to let you know that it’s soon time to change gears. A quick check has you moving at 77 Km/h, clutch in, gas off, shift to second, clutch out, gas on. Engine drops 2400 RPM into second and you pull from 4000 RPM all the way back to 6500RPM. Second is over in an instant and you are now doing 125Km/h. Clutch in, gas off, third gear, clutch out, gas on. Thrown back, the engine pulls hard from 5000 RPM to 6500 RPM. Yellow lights tell you to shift and you smile to see 158 Km/h. Time for fourth gear. Clutch in, gas off, fourth gear, clutch out, gas on. Tachometer drops to 4500 RPM, alcohol pump kicks in, boost shoots to 20 PSI and you know this is the gear that takes you beyond 220 Km/h. you have burned all the way through 4th gear. A quick gear change drops you back down to 4000 at 222Km/h and you settle and watch the speed climb. A quick glance has the AFR steady at 11.0, the boost solid at 27 PSI and through the seat, steering wheel and shifter; you can feel that you are really moving now. The first set of green shift lights illuminate at 5500 RPM, you are past 260 Km/h. second set of green light up. You are at 6000 RPM and traveling 285Km/h. First set of yellow start to flicker and then light up, the engine is now sitting at 6500, almost at the end of your run and you look down to see 303Km/h. You know you shouldn’t hold this speed too long, you are moving 85 meters per second and the wind starts to play havoc with the car. Shit is passing by so quickly, your hair has been standing up since before you put the car in gear. You let off of the gas pedal slowly and hear the engine start to drop in RPM. Slight pressure on the brakes brings you back down to 200Km/h and you downshift to 4th. Letting compression take over, you watch the engine temp start to drop. Gradually you see the end of the runway start to become clearer and you know the run is quickly coming to an end. What a pass.

NOTE: I personally feel that "Self Incriminating" is stupid, so please understand that I will only post normal or acceptable driving (It is legal in ontario to cross middle solid for any reason for as long as it is safe)

Haters post whatever you want, it wont change anything.
People who like it, Enjoy.
