Interesting project..

Which of the gearboxes are you using?

I have an '97 Alfa GTV TB with an custom built 12V engine, Turbonetics E60 .82 ar turbo and Sport 1000 ecu.

I use the original tb 5speed box, it once ripped all the teeth for both 3rd gear gears straight off. I installed an another gearset from a tb box, have been running fine since (should be the same specs), even with more power and torque..

What oil are you using?

Would it be possible to get to know the header pipe dimensions, and the dimensions of the collector pipes before the turbo?

I Am using the 5 Speed Gearbox from the 164 24V V6.
It will be fitted with a strengthening plate as they used on the integrale boxes hopefully to avoid stripping 3rd gear. I have one brand new unused box & a couple of used ones, so i should have enough to keep me going for a while. This will be fitted with a plate type LSD.

I Am traveling, and will get back to you on the exhaust sizes.

Oil will be Miller CFS 10W60 in the engine & Redline MT90 for the gearbox.

Re exhaust dimensions - I am assuming you want to know the diameter of the tube,

Headders are 41mm OD
Collectors are 50mm OD

After turbo diameter is 76mm OD.

Ok, thanks.

I have 35mm ID headers, 48mm ID collectors. T3 flange. 3" after turbo - so pretty much the same..
I do not know a lot about those cars, but I have built several of these engines in 12v configuration, both na and forced.

Very nice. What does the car weigh? At that power level it must be quite the hoot to drive!

Well I have to say its pretty quick, 0-60 in 3.65 seconds is the best I have clocked so far, but I dont want to try too many times, as I have already wrecked one gearbox
Image

At the moment the second set of gears are starting to get noisy, so time to investigate a new gearbox.......

The car is now fitted with a Toyota MR2 Turbo Gearbox and has been back to AET Motorsport to sort out a missfire issue, which turned out to be nothing more than a faulty crank sensor, Engine was tweaked while it was there and it now has 492WHP at 1.2 bar :)
