13B REW Full FunctionHall Trigger No start(Resolved)

Postby DinuzzoFC3S45r » Mon Oct 02, 2017 5:22 am

Start with some simple information

Engine
Full Bridge REW Brand new built

Electronics
Full Function Hall Effect trigger kit RX8 Wheel
Platinum sport 1000 13b terminated Harness- re worked for Elite 1500
Elite 1500

General given information.

Installed the sensor according to the excel sheet you can download from FFE site I did power and ground to the sensor then connected signal to the yellow.

All the setting are exactly mirror of what FFE downloaded instructions are.

Specific error on diagnostics page is Reference Detection Error. Its currently limiting Fuel and Ignition, preventing the start.

I know reading this it appears that all stars are aligned and it should be working, so any help is greatly appreciated.

I cant say I have ever used one of the kits but there are no real tricks. If the ECU sees the signal it will run.

Thanks for the reply, setting it up as RX8 gives me no errors, witch is of course against what full functions instructions are.

But there's no spark, I personally feel there's somthing g going on with the platinum sport 1000 13b terminated harness LS coils set up, that's just not working right with my elite, but I can't say for sure.

I have a cranking log I can post later today in about 10 hours or so from now.

I struggled to get my engine with LS1 coils to start and eventually came upon what was described as a factory dwell table for the coils attached. Sorry it is not in spreadsheet format but you can copy the values wanted to your dwell table. It may help.

LS1 coils, set it at 4.5ms and you will be fine.

LS2 are less, more like 3 to 3.5ms

Simple fix really, after watching one of the haltech youtube videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqKzSSlr0hk

Figured out that the ignition switch was preventing ignition and fuel.

Even though it was all wired correctly, in order to correct the problem i had to switch the function to Momentary instead of Switch.

Shes brapping now

Also though, Full functions downloaded instructions are incorrect, For the hall sensor on 13b REW, you need to set it up as Rx8 trigger, the way Full Function tells you to do it Generic missing tooth- no home 36 teeth 1 missing, but its just shoots errors, 1 being Reference Detection Error

The RX8/Subaru/Suzuki pattern is definitely not a 36-1, so there you go just have to select the correct pattern.
