VR6 coil backfire with ignition on

Postby frischris12 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 6:12 am

Hi All.
Hope someone would be able to help me. I,m running a VW VR6 ignition coil on a Essex V6 Twin Turbo with an Elite 750.
The VR6 coil is wasted spark . When I turn the Ignition on i get a backfire. so I presume that the coil gets an trigger from the ECU and then ignites un-burnt fuel.
The Ignition coil is wired up on a separate relay , using the same trigger as the ECR.
Is there any way that i would be able to get this issue sorted out?
What can be done so that the ECU does not trigger the coil on Ignition on.

Regards
Chris

I put my ignition relay on a Generic Output, condition setting by rpm greater than 5. The relay stays open at key-on and closes at 5 rpm cranking. No backfire as happened before (also on the Platinum) that would blow the hose off the map sensor.
