Elite 2500 Flashing green power light, ECU shuts down

Postby Fusionworks » Sun Oct 29, 2017 2:43 am

Using an Elite 2500 ecu on a 2003 IS300 with the supplied Boomslang PnP harness. Car has been up and running fine for weeks no issues. Now the ECU powers up as normal with key on and a white LED illuminates. During cranking the power LED will begin to flash green and the ecu shuts down the communication with the Laptop and the outputs (fuel pump no longer running). This is resulting in a no start condition. With just key on communication and operation seem to be fine.

If you are seeing a green light something not nice is going on. Send it back in to be check out. Only usually happens if something has been shorted at some point.

It is something within the vehicle. Another Elite 2500 was swapped in and exhibited the same behavior. Back to the original ecu and now it magically started functioning normally again. If the flashing green indicates a short situation would you say to look into the 12V switched source inputs? The elite is being fed all of it's 12V inputs via the Boomslang harness and stock ecu/relays.

It usually means the ECU is not completing its boot up process, so something must be shorting it very badly for this to happen. I only normally see it when someone has nuked the ECU already.
