Rally antilag totally cutting out spark

Postby jasaircraft » Sun Nov 05, 2017 4:19 am

EDIT POST NAME TO: Ignition being totally cut with throttle lift (coast down).
Hi,
So i think i have set my rally style antilag correctly, i will attach the file, and now have either some setup still to be changed or a software bug or wrong firmware?
I see ignition in the software being retarded to the set value (-35), i see fuel being enriched by the set value (5percent) and have enough throttle plate opening not to have any vacuum even on throttle lift at high rpm(coast down) all values seem to be correct at throttle lift, so the ecu is in fact trying to engage antilag.

So i just cant understand why it wont do the usual pops and bangs.... using my strobe light i find that its totally cutting spark on throttle lift being the antilag switch on or off ... Why? I have disabled my Decel box in the "Decel Cut" tab (although the green box in the "add/remove" menu cannot be disabled because the little hand doesnt appear when hovering the cursor over it).

Could it be possible that its the trigger setup that doesnt allow such retarded timing?
I did check timing with the strobe light and locking ignition angle values from0 to 30 advanced and it was spot on, but maybe retarding it that much is not possible for that trigger setup?

Im downloading all of the product version support files maybe that fixes it? I guess firmware should upgrade when i connect the laptop to the ecu through esp?

Just upgraded the elite1500's firmware to the latest 2.24 also have the latest esp and no solution.
Ignition is cut on throttle lift.

Thinking about ... it might be the rotational idle cutting spark until revs drop down to the "end rpm" value. I guess what should be cut is fuel until revs drop until the "end rpm"
Maybe changing the engine rpm limiter to fuel will stop this spark cutting

Ok i can now confirm that enabling rot idle is what cuts spark on throttle lift or coast down and it doesnt appear even with antilag enabled and performing according to software (ign shows retarded and enriches fuel) also antilag state is "on" so definately the ecu or software is trying to make it work

Until it can be looked at, set the Rot Idle conditions to work below the RPM you set for the Anti-Lag Min RPM. This will prevent the ignition from being cut when antilag should be active.

I actually also tried that ie set my rot idle end rpm to 1400
Then i had my min rpm for antilag first at 1700 then also tried higher at 2000rpm
I think we will just wait until there is an update or fix to download.
The car is pulling strong anyways.
You know rally drivers like the Mcrae dreams haha.
What i would also find useful that i asked for since the E series ecus is a progression from all cylinders cut at rot idle end rpm to all cylinders firing.
A table can be used for this with tps vs rpm that way you can actually have a "cruise" instead of the current on/off rot idle type.

Percentage cut is coming, so this will be possible in the near future.
