Driving a Speedo using 2500DBW output

Postby TUF-427 » Fri May 11, 2018 11:03 pm

Hi all

Was going to wire the VSS input directly into the 2500 using a spare SPI,

Installing a DBW setup into a cobra replica and guessing a speed reference into Ecu will be useful.

Could I then mirror the hall input to drive the speedo using an SPO or Stepper?

Thanks In advance

Hi All

I'm also looking at this for an Elite 2500 and I cannot find any information.

I have exactly what you guys are asking about on my old 1991 240sx. There is a custom speed signal input to the ECU through the ABS sensor.
Then use a custom frequency output with the table axis's being your speed.

Just sitting there you can use the table to drive the speedo and then plot the correct speed vs frequency.

10mph = 20hz
40=120hz
100=291hz

etc

You can use any output to do this. If you need a custom signal voltage use a 1k pullup resistor between the signal wire and the voltage you need. Or you can use DPO1 and simply tell it the voltage and map it the way it has been suggested.
