Firmware 21 Elite 2500T glitch

Postby onfire » Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:46 am

Just started getting a warning offline only to connect the R.E.M. Do not have R.E.M. 2500T TM is in the main ECM. Does not show online.

Just updated to 22 firmware and 25 software. Still can not make offline changes due to the R.E.M. warning.

the red caption in the picture says that the REM actually has to be connected and not just enabled, maybe it's the same for the 2500T where the 2500T itself actually has to be connected to the software before it will allow changes?

That is now true.

Was not that way until I updated from 2.16 firmware.

Made many changes offline. Now the laptop has to be connected to the ECM to take changes. Good thing i made 95% of my tune before I upgraded the firmware or it would have been a real bitch. Other bad thing is if you enable the REM box offline (even though I do not have REM) it still will not allow offline changes because it creates a bunch of wiring "conflicts".

Hopefully a future firmware update will fix the problem.

Updated to firmware 2.23 today. Saved the tune from the ECM to the laptop. Still can not make changes offline due to the R.E.M. Warning even though I do not have R.E.M. But have TC built into the ECM. Bummer.

Solution is to tune online. I dont have an ETA on this, its in the system along with hundreds of things for R&D to do.

Just reality, and dont shoot the messenger, but an issue affecting 1 or 2 people and there is a workaround, is not so high on the priority list. R&D are aware of the issue but just being honest they have much bigger fish to fry at the moment. Not forgotten, just in the list.

Interesting that only 1 other person bought the more expensive 2500T ECM instead of the cheaper 2500. Word must be getting out to buy the external R.E.M. Box instead of buying the T box so they can make tuning changes without getting into the car and going online with the ECM.

Most people tune live in the vehicle and not away from it. I do completely understand why you would want to, and I am not in any way dismissing you, but from what I am told the issue is not as straight forward to address as it may seem.

Just checking in a year later to see if it has gotten any action. Thanks.

Wow, similar to the response I got on a crash when I use the follow function "f" key during live tuning.
If I had to say, this is one thing I do not like about Haltech so far. Who like hearing we will get to it eventually as long as there is a work around.
My work around is basically don't use the functionality included in the device you paid good money for.
overall Haltech probably has the best support in the industry, but these things are frustrating.
