Tuning cells the ECU can't reach

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is any point in tuning cells the ECU can never reach?

I've got an R33 with a pro plug in, so for example - is there any point in tuning the VCT fuel and ignition maps over 4600 rpm when the VCT is switched off? I'm also curious about the point in tuning cells in the maps the ECU couldn't reach, for example 20+ psi at 1000rpm.

I've only recently started tuning my own car so I hope these questions aren't too silly!

No real need to tune the high boost cells as the ECU won't ever access them.
Unsure about your VCT questions as i'm not familiar with the tune setup on the GTR.

Personally I just set them to something safe incase you have say a MAP sensor start to play up :)

You don't need to tune any cells that will never be used. It is more a convention and keeping the tune looking clean rather than like a dogs breakfast, which helps identify when things look unusual in the table and you have a true issue.
