Re: Spool asist boost

What would happen with a negative value in the duty cycle table? For example I use gear correction. And a value of -100 on first gear to get rid of all duty in the table and only run the spring pressure. Would this equal to 0? Say the open loop use 100 duty low and on top 10. Value would theoretical...

firmware update bug

I have had this bug for ever, maybe its time to do something about it ;)

When updating the values change from -100 to 0, and 0 is not allowed, default should be -100 for most i guess?

3 port with both sides of wastegate connected. Bleeding off the pressure on top.

Re: Spool asist boost

How aggressive did you have the PID table? I did not change it from default.... I’ve been told I have this sensitive setup because I’m running such low duty because the spring pressure is to close to the boost target. Going down 0.1-0.2bar in spring pressure could make this better. Will try that. B...

Re: Spool asist boost

In the dyno I tested the closed loop boost control. But damn it didn’t work at all. Overshooting and oscillating badly. We tried a bunch of setups but it just was not useable. When you now have my finished duty cycle table for open loop. Could you estimate a working setup for closed loop? My setup i...

Generic output

I want to use a generic output to control when my bov can open and not.

Is it possible to put a time frame on the output. Example: When it activates, it’s activated x amount of time even if the condition is no longer met?

Re: Aux rev limit using clutch switch as input

Why not use the normal launch control for this?

Re: Spool asist boost

Yes that is the way to do it, but flatten the areas under boost otherwise it will oscillate. As you said i had that issue. While in the dyno we changed to rpm x tps. And Steady rpm tuned the duty cycle. This is what we ended up with. Its not perfect because depending on how high the load is it not ...

Re: Spool asist boost

Yes my valve opens from high emap. I also have a manifold that makes the exhaust flow bit the wastegate right on and the turbo is on a bend making it even harder for the valve to hold close. This makes for great boost control. That is the whole idea of me want to do this. Is my setup in the boost co...

Spool asist boost

I have a wg spring that makes 0.6bar boost on 8000rpm. The boost comes on really progressive. It makes 0.5bar about 4500rpm. Im pretty sure with wg all closed it would give full boost at about 3000rpm If i want to use elecgronic control to shut the wg to aid the spool, but not increse it over 0.6bar...

Re: Mac 4 port solenoid for boost control

Yes so I’ve been told also. What I want is the possibility to run a really soft wg spring. Like 0.3bar. Then use boost pressure to force it closed to prevent opening from emap. Then I can run boost by gear to gain grip on 1st gear. My setup is a low pressure setup with full boost at 0.6bar. Wouldn’t...

And on your setup you always use ignition cuts?
No loud exhaust bangs?

Mac 4 port solenoid for boost control

Do the software support the “new” style 4 port solenoid in both open and closed loop?

Or is the programming the same for them?

Re: DBW Traction Control

There has to be. Fuel goes in one crank cycle ahead of time so you are always delayed one cycle compared with fuel cuts compared with ignition cuts. But one cycle? Would you notice that? I mean how many rpm can the engine gain on one cycle only? It fires 6 times on one cycle in my case. So 2 turns....

Re: DBW Traction Control

I would like to set this up so i can do a 0-100kmh faster. I guess this is not what it is designed for. Because i have som real trouble getting it working as i want. Its so agressive engine bogs when i go of the launch at 4500rpm. This is the last settings I where at. It did come off the "start...
