Re: COP and Trigger Offset Angle

Revise my earlier dwell reading for 12-14V supply power to 2.0ms. The signal ground was not correct on earlier session. The signal ground must go to the engine/chasis, not as a signal ground to the Elite as was with the LS coils that I had been using. Reviewed the Gauss catalog for the pinout descri...

Re: COP and Trigger Offset Angle

Made acceptable progress. I did some Youtube browsing for current measurement and located a video explaining how to set up a current clamp. I probably would never use it again so I kept it on the cheap side. I ordered a clamp from SparkFun for less than 10USD, clipped the stereo plug off the cable a...

Re: Ignition coil dwell service?

It's my understanding to clamp the supply (primary) power and measure the current. The high tension side ( Hantek HT308 ) is of no info for coil dwell.
If I have some luck, my checking might yield some info that I need too.

Re: COP and Trigger Offset Angle

Making some progress on the COP installation, but am hung up on selecting a dwell time that has good results. Am using Delphi GN10322 coil that is equivalent to Bosch 02211064115. these are mfr selected for the 2.0 l Turbo VW and Audi engines. Am using on a BMW S14 engine though, but no matter. I no...

My GaugeArt gauge will not display the Long and Short term fuel trim properly for negative numbers, i.e. fuel pulled out. Does yours display properly and not a 5 digit number?

Re: Sprint 500 and V6 dfi wiring

I used 6 LS coils on a straight 6 BMW. I used the coil wire harness from a v8 LS engine and did not use the 4th connector on each coil harness. Attached is a diagram. Ignore everything from the harness connector (it's the GM 7 pin OEM connector) above the coils to the right on the diagram as it is m...

Re: COP and Trigger Offset Angle

Thank you. The plug wire would work for me too. I have a some wires around here to use.
Not ready yet and have been going thru the things to get the conversion ready. I really don't need to reset my offset angle but I have a friend that will.

COP and Trigger Offset Angle

Ok, so I need to expose my ignorance to the world again and need some more education.

With a coil on plug ignition, how does one connect a timing light when there is no spark plug wire?

Re: Elite 1500, feedback, input and advise needed.

If the crank trigger pickup leads were reversed, no harm to the ECU. The curve produced is a sine wave. The wave would be inverted. The trigger is supposed to happen when the wave is down sloping. The trigger would occur at the same time and would vary the instrumented crank position with speed. Con...

Bosch COP Pinout

Working to install COP using Bosch 0221604115 coil. These are used on Audi/VW cars 2.0L Turbo engines '08 - '10 or thereabouts. These are smart coils with 4 terminals numbered 1-4. Been doing a lot of searching on the net but haven't had any luck so far.

Re: Rescaling RPM dial gauge in ESP

Been waiting too. 1-10K rpm is a lot more prevalent than 0-20K rpm. Is my mind going or do I remember correctly that rescaling the gauge in ECUManager was possible?

Re: Elite 1500, feedback, input and advise needed.

Other observations-
An ignition igniter is required to drive the ignition coil. The Motronic has the driver circuits internal, the Haltech does not have it.

B11 terminal needs +12V switched power as well.
