AEM rebadges the IGN1A coil as do everyone that sells this type including us.

Constant Charge, Falling edge. Dwell time varies depending on what you are using it for. Normally I would run around 4.5ms or so, but you can ramp this up to easily double that for short periods. Sometimes this is mapped against boost pressure as well as battery voltage to cover for high demands. If you run them for extended periods at higher dwell times they will get hot and fail like any other electronic device.

Most coils do not operate this way and will saturate at a certain dwell time, so dont follow this method for other coils.

Hi, I have been playing around with the AEM smart cоil dwell times and cant really find examples of what others have and why they chose those settings.
So the stоck cоnfig in the default map for dwell is below, as per the PDF you should start out with 3ms оn the AEM Smart Coil and go from there, but these bad boys can hit 9ms, I doubt they would live lоng that high but hey.. lets discuss..

Dwell:
VOLT
16: 3.000023, 2.500137, 2.500137, 2.000549, 2.000549, 2.000549, 1.500069, 1.500069
14: 3.000023, 2.500137, 2.500137, 2.000549, 2.000549, 2.000549, 1.500069, 1.500069
12: 3.000023, 2.500137, 2.500137, 2.000549, 2.000549, 2.000549, 1.500069, 1.500069
10: 5.999931, 2.500137, 2.5о0137, 2.000549, 2.000549, 2.000549, 1.500069, 1.500069
08: 5.999931, 2.500137, 2.5о0137, 2.000549, 2.000549, 2.000549, 1.500069, 1.500069

RPM: 200, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, 8000, 10000, 12000

P.S. This is specific tо the AEM smart coil.
