Engine Protection AFR settings

Postby Bondie72 » Wed Nov 24, 2021 3:41 am

HI,

Yesterday i did a track day at Le Mans (Bugatti Circuit) when coming out of a couple of corners and holding high RPM the car would cut just as i start to apply the boost as car straightens.

2.5 V6 twin turbo 1.4 bar. Platinum Sport 2000

I set up the engine protection to look for a lean event set to 13.2 on either Wide band sensor (I have 1 in each bank), when over 0.6 bar and for 0.5 seconds.

It was a very cold day and i wondered if this is a kind of event that occurs when hold ng high rpm off boost and then apply the boost, I'm thinking its not giving the Sensor s enough time to react to the change of i need to set the limit a bit leaner?

When on full boost I'm 10-11 AFR so its not lean on full boost.

I think I guessed at these settings so wondered if anyone could suggest which parameter is the best to change?

Thank

Martin

Ok. Looking at the data it’s not the AFR but oil pressure. Was going under 29PSI when over 0.5bar on a corner. Although I have a trackday sump apparently there is another mod I need to do to stop this. At least the engine protection is working.
