Thermofan and A/C fan control

Postby r34gtt » Thu Dec 27, 2018 1:37 pm

Hey all,
Got a haltech platinum pro on my R34 GTT skyline.
I have removed the viscous fan and replaced it with dual thermofans, since i am doing this i also want to remove the standard A/C fan since this function should be incorporated into the new electric fans.

I understand for the fans to be controlled by PWM i need to use a solid state relay such as this;
https://www.digikey.com.au/en/product-h ... tate-relay
But i want to confirm the wiring for it since the DPO switches to ground, so would i be;
PIN 30- +12v Fused
PIN 87 - To thermo fan
PIN 86 - DPO1
PIN 85- +12v Fused

Also is there an ''Enable with A/C'' option for thermofan PWM? I read in an old thread this option was only available for on/off and not PWM but don't have the software installed to check if it has been implemented. If this option is not there how do people have the thermo fans coming on with the A/C?

Also what logic are people following to control the thermofans? EG; Duty cycle increase with coolant temperature? Fans cut out at certain road speed?

Cheers,

After installing the software and having a play it seems like there is no ''enable with a/c'' option for the thermofan when controlling it by PWM,
How would something like this go? Or is there a better way to go about it?
