Critical Firmware Update for BK Theta and Z33 Users

Postby HaltechAdam » Fri Jul 13, 2012 2:59 pm

Critical Firmware Update

It is strongly recommended that users with V1.11.0 or V1.11.1 upgrade to this version.

Version V1.11.2 firmware for BK theta and z33 ECUs has been released.
This version fixes faults that were found with electronic throttle and fuel composition sensor features.

  • Enabling the fuel composition sensor on a DPI causes ECU communication error
  • Improvement to Electronic throttle error detection

Quick Question. I just bought a haltech platinum pro plug in for my 300zxtt. The Cd that it came with is v 1.10.2. should i use the cd or download the latest version. Does the 1.10.2 support all current features including the flex fuel sensor?

You should always use the latest software from our website, and consider upgrading firmware before starting your tune. Stockists around the world may have stock that is weeks or months old and of course there are always software updates which can happen in this time. The current version at this point is v1.12.5 and all new versions are backwards compatible with all firmware versions.

Hey Matt, currently v1.12.5 has firmware version 1.12.2 for both the Hyundai and the Z33, i suppose these updates will have everything known to be fixed correct?

Generally used to update the firmware block normally, and today turned out to the selected firmware 1_13_1_release, a window popped up at the end of "block 124" And then Haltec his not defined and the laptop does not see it

Could we have a change log between 1.13.1 and 1.13.2 please? Also, can we please have cruise control back and or some kind of firmware dev kit for specialty tuners? There are lots of things that could be solved with a completed sniff of the CANBUS for BK Theta owners.

(New poster here)

Vehicle : 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT
ECU: Platinum Pro Plug-in (for 350z/G35)
ECU Manager Software: 1.14
Firmware Version: Z33.1.13.1

Problem: Codes P2109 and P2133 (both for ETC)

Quick details on issue: This started after we swapped the throttle body on the vehicle. Before the throttle body swap, the ECU was reading the TPS with no issue. After the swap, we started getting these codes (tested with both the aftermarket and factory throttle body it was originally working with). Calibration attempts via the software fail with an error(5) code on step 2. (Wiring wasn't altered during or since the throttle body install, and we installed a new OEM pedal assembly (including a new TPS) after doing some initial troubleshooting w/ Haltech support in KY, which suggested the TPS was failing.)

Online research led me to this post suggesting a potential fix via updating the firmware to Haltech-Z33-1.13.2.hfmp. This particular firmware revision is no longer available for download on Haltech's site, and I was told by Haltech support that this file wasn't for my vehicle - however, based on how the problem triggered, troubleshooting done thus far and the change log fixes listed for 1.13.2 (which supposedly addresses some ETC issues), it seems this may be firmware/software related at this point.

Can someone confirm if Haltech-Z33-1.13.2.hfmp is indeed the latest firmware revision available for the Platinum Pro Plug-in ECU? (I would love to know I'm running the latest available firmware and software and I'm not dealing with a known bug before we proceed further with troubleshooting).

Thanks in advance.
