It is just priorities.

Add a test mode which takes many weeks or months of engineering time to add to help someone who could test the wiring themselves, or add support for a new vehicle that is not currently supported but a number of users need added so they can run their car? There are so many requests for functionality and we simply have to do some things before others.

Any chance this has or will make it to the top of the list?

Even MS2/MS3 have test modes with all channels.
Why cant we have this here?

Not everyone can buy a complete "100% working new Haltech" harness for their engine.
Its important to check everything before starting it, i cant just leave my race engine running for hours to check if the custom fan controller / pumps / solenoids... etc are working with the signals comming from my Elite 1500.
Cant even let the fuel pump running without bridging the relay.

Haltech makes the best ECUs (in my opinion) and its a waste to not have a test mode.
We NEED a test mode!

I'm upgrading from a Microtech LT-12 to an Elite 2500.

I'm a bit shocked to discover that there's no test modes for outputs on the Elite. Even the early Microtech MT-8 I had had a test mode that pulsed injectors and coils at 2500rpm and cycled the fans.

Pretty please add this feature. The ability to turn on a single injector or coil in a pulsed mode, or run fans etc is a god send!

I have been attempting to sort out a trigger, ign and injector issues for months on an elite 1500, I even had to send the ecu in for service and pay "diagnostics" becuase lack of a test mode, now a test mode would have sorted everything out in about 15 minutes. I just managed to start the car and I still don't know if the injectors are firing with a closed or open valve and my only way to find out is by using leds on the outputs and crank th engine just to see if a coil led will follow an injector led... 2022 and im forced to use cavemen like methods on a high end ecu. I mean, even MS, Adaptronic, Link, Motec have test mode :/

Please, add a testmode for coils and injectors... or all the outputs for that matter :|

I was just wrapping up my first elite 2500 installation which included a fair bit of rewiring and couldn't find any way of testing outputs!? Which has lead me to this post... Is there really no way of testing outputs directly from the ecu?

No matter what industry (Robotics, industrial automation, automotive, etc.), one of the first things you do during testing/commissioning is an IO check. I have a hard time believing this isn't a thing!? An even harder time believing Haltech hasn't put an intern on this... I don't care what language/hardware you're using; toggling IO is a simple thing to code... matter of fact probably the simplest.

Requesting again for this feature.

Even if it's limited functionality, like pulsing coils and injectors.

Most outputs can already be tested by changing the Active State, so that part is already halfway there.

What would be ideal is a system diagnostics page with the option to view all in/out voltages, a button to turn each output on and off (and maybe simulate conditions for inputs, so they can trigger set conditions etc), simulate engine running at a specific RPM (so that coils and injectors fire).

It would help troubleshooting immensely

For the first time in month (years actually) I powered up my 750 with the wiring still in process and updated the firmware and swapped to NSP, which is a bit confusing at first, but that has the same approach.
I was happy to see that there is an Oscilloscope panel, but disappointed as well that there is still no test mode in the software.
I needed that to understand exactly what signal I shall expect on the ignition wires, according to my setup because this area is still very blur to me and the documentation assumes that users know enough to understand what's NOT in the documentation : type and min and max values for each output, depending on each ignition option. A gigantic hole in the documentation, if you ask me.

Anyway, I eventually set a 60-2 triggerwheel from GoingSuperFast.com that I had in stock, on a bench drill, with the crank sensor that I wired attached to the vice near the triggerwheel, and it almost works : there are many teeth count errors, because the wheel doesn't turn exactly round so I can't get the sensor close enough, but when the drill turns faster than 700rpm it works enough to fire the coils and I can check that on a real oscilloscope connected to Ignition_1 wire and ground. At last I have confirmation of what is that output signal !

Next step is to connect a coil, then all coils, then injectors and I should be able to go furter with all these tests before setting the engine in the car.

Heavy Setup for a futile task, but "Aux grands maux les grands remèdes", as we say in french (which could be translated to : "get there by all means" or something similar.
:D

Yes, Yes, Yes please add a test mode. Ive been struggling for weeks trying to chase down problems that a test mode would make very simple.

Honestly this is making me re-evaluate purchasing a Haltech Elite 750 for my AE86.
it doesn't take much to add Output1=Button1State; (Or whatever is used for the NSP GUI) to simply turn on/off 0v, 5v output.
Go grab an intern and have them bang this out w/ copy paste.

Watching the latest episode of Mighty Car Mods, they're installing an Elite onto a midget car with a 1.0L 3 cylinder. Dave from Haltech is having issues with tracing wires to the coils (and other things) and isn't getting spark. The MCM boys are getting restless, but they wouldn't have to be if only there were a test mode feature on Haltech ECUs!

When can we expect to see something Haltech? It's going to be game changing for trouble shooting problems. Pretty please!
