Knock detection spectrogram

Postby Shuriken » Fri Mar 12, 2021 7:27 am

I'm curious about sampling frequency in the knock detection spectrogram? Is it sampled by ECU's CPU or by computer's CPU which runs ESP software? I've seen several videos and samples about using knock detection and they have a pretty smooth and solid spectrogram picture. Mine looks like very sparse vertical rows. So, may it be the problem with a knock sensor or CPU (and which one)?
Thanks!

You need to explain further you concern.
There is no adjustment for sampling frequency. When determining the knock frequency, many other functions are curtailed because the spectrogram knock detection consumes a lot of resources. The engine has to knock to detect the frequency. The other spikes are engine noise. When it knocks it will be evident.

I realized what was wrong. I accidentally set this thing (I suppose this is a kind of cut-off filter for signal level). So I've seen nothing on the spectrogram except a couple of green bars when the signal was passing set level.
