Wideband sensor Longevity issues

Postby Flat_Rate » Fri Mar 12, 2021 3:50 pm

Hello

First off some back round,

I formally ran a Innovate LC1 wideband for years never had a single issue with it, replaced the sensor every year or 2 just to be on the safe side, never had them go bad in between changes.

I have since went to the Haltech CAN single channel wideband ( to free up an input) with the new LSU 4.9 sensor. Man i have had alot of sensor failures just had one fail again yesterday, what i don't understand is why it failed.

Was working perfectly fine, did a pull and hit a boost cut, so i had to cycle the ignition to reset the over boost protection cycled the key while driving, reset.. everything is ok, then i noticed wideband just started reading super lean like 70.1 ratios and then eventually went full lean.. I don't understand why it would fail from that, there was no backfire or anything strange that happened during the key cycle.. This is my 3rd sensor in about a years time..

Any ideas??
