Solid state relay problem

I'm wiring in a solid state relay into my car to control my fan. I have an Elite 2000 w/ pnp harness on my rb25det. I have it wired up with a 1k resistor between the 12v switched and DPO. I'm using b18 as my DPO. The relay stays closed if the key is on and if I remove the DPO wire from the relay it opens and the fan shuts off. Does anyone have any input as to what I may be missing?

How do you have the DPO set up? What temp is the fan supposed to turn on?
