01 nb miata vvt no turnover/spark

Postby cris90 » Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:25 am

hi everyone so car is stock, exhuast and intake but no other mods

have pnp haltech elite. base tune installed with the stock ecu car runs and turns over perfectly fine no problems whatso ever. installed the pnp nb set up and checked the jumpers and all set. The car cranks, i get fuel and fuel pressure (have a fuel pressure gauge and the borescope i used after removing the spark plug when it didn't turn over and cranked it showed injector are spitting)

There is NO spark 0. i removed the sparkplug, and grounded to the valve cover and i get no spark. nothing. again if i plug the oem ecu the engine turns over. So i can say I've officially ran out of options as to what to do with trouble shooting. and haltech is closed due to the holidays. i tired the FB group and after some guys helping me try a few things got recommended to post here until monday when i can call haltech.

Also trouble shooting i did.
Check continuity of the pnp harness and the oem harness, ran my multimeter from the pnp harness, connected to the oem harness to the engine bay and checkl continuity from end to end and it sees it. i checked the pnp from haltech against there own diagram and it's all as it should be. checked the nsp software and the wiring pin out is correct and the haltech is correctly send from pins.

attached i included sheet shots of my trigger page and everything seems correct. the oem ecu works so i know my crank and cam sensors are working. and my trigger set up seems correct. set to nb miata and no trigger errors and trig sync working. One person said the ignition driver could be bad on the elite, never thought of it. but does anyone have any other trouble shooting ideas? Haltech is closed due to holidays otherwise i would have called them.

Did you set the TDC offset, if not do so. Video --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vu5mCH ... el=Haltech
Charge your batterie, 9.6V is pretty low.., ECUs usually freak out below 11,5V when cranking.
Did you set your fuel density and Injector flow rate? Your INJ Time seems pretty high for having sync'ed triggers.

Hope that helps.
