Generating a VE table from a MAF tune?

Postby John V » Wed May 15, 2019 12:24 am

Hello,

has anyone taken a tune that is MAF-based and used the data in that tune or log files to generate a speed-density (VE) tune? I've got my setup running very well on MAF but we're exceeding the limits of the MAF. I can build a larger housing for the MAF but that will require re-tuning anyway. I'd rather start over with a speed density tune and go from there.

Just curious if anyone's done this and can help. Thanks much,

John

Not really. The time you would spend doing the math versus just switching over and starting with the default table and just tuning it again would make it not worthwhile. Especially so with the air flow model not lining up directly with either MAP or TPS. You would need to tune again no matter what.

You can though extrapolate things like a timing curve if you already recorded TPS and MAP and enter value fairly close to what you were seeing.
