Hi all,
I'm not the greatest electrician of all time but trying to get the indicators going in my falcon as they died when I installed the IC-7. Pin out of the standard cluster is attached. What wire goes where?
IC-7 Dash Falcon indicators
Re: IC-7 Dash Falcon indicators
Are your indicator outputs high-side or low-side drive? We don’t have Falcons here in the US, so I’m not sure. If they’re driving off of the high-side of the circuit, you can wire them directly into the IC7 on pins 22 and 23. If they are a low-side drive, you’ll want to run them through a relay (any relay will do, you’re not moving much current.) before terminating a high-side output into the IC7.
I was fortunate to find the high-side outputs for these on my corvette, so I didn’t need relays for this part, but my parking brake input was low-side and I had to run it through a relay before terminating into the dash.
I attached a screenshot of that portion of the quick-start guide to use as reference.

Also, from the photo you posted, you’re checking 4B and 8B on the diagram to the right. Those are your right and left indicator outputs, respectively.
Re: IC-7 Dash Falcon indicators
Hey guys,
Ive just watch someone install one of these IC7's into a falcon and he kept the original dash cluster mainboard plugged in to retain the indicators, etc.
I'm just wondering guys if you got this to work with this advice before I go chopping the loom to try this?
@Kenny420,
Just found this post. Having the same problem. Everything seems to work, however the workshop manual for the falcon says the cluster controls the turn indicators (and hazards) in the cluster.
Do I wire in pins 22 & 23 to 4B & 8B respectively to get the indicators to work?
Or will I need to add a relay or something else between the 17A & 18A and 4B & 8B or something. I assume there is a relay in the engine bay to do the switching, and the indicator stalk turns on the "signal" so is there something I'm missing??
@Turbochook,
Did you get the falcon to work with just wiring 4B & 8B to pin 22 & 23 or did you have to do something more?
